Stockholm is the best region in Sweden for quality of life, according to a global study of regional well-being.
A report by the Organisation for Economic Development (OECD) released this week assessed nine criteria including income, education, access to broadband and housing.
The Swedish capital came out top, with the Swedish capital particularly praised for its healthcare and access to public services.
The municipality was also ranked the 19th best region in the world to live in.
But port cities in Canada, Australia and Norway achieved higher scores. The OECD measured living standards in 362 regions.
Skåne got the lowest score of any Swedish region, coming 85th, largely because of high unemployment.
However the area is expected to get a boost in coming months, with Stefan Löfven's Social Democrat-led coalition government promising extra investment in industry and transport links.
The region also has a booming start-up scene.
Sweden frequently appears close to the top of studies looking at well being at a national level, due to its focus on welfare, education and the environment and the population's financial stability.
In September a report suggested that Swedes had fewer money worries than people in any other European nation.
Last week Sweden was also revealed as the second best place in the world to grow old.
