Tinkerbell the Dachshund was thought to be lost on Friday night when heavy rains caused a mudsilde to roll through a neighborhood on the 6400 block of Sam Como Lane in Camarillo Springs, heavily damaging the house she lived in. One of her owners had to be rescued from the house when he got trapped in waist-deep mud. Tinkerbell was was nowhere to be seen and presumed dead.
However, on Sunday morning neighbors spotted her sitting by one of the house's windows and called the Ventura County Fire Department. Firefighters were able to save her from the red-tagged home and she was soon reunited with her owner, the same man who had to be rescued on Friday night. The VCFD posted the news of the "emotional reunion" on their Facebook page and their public information officer Captain Mike Lindbery tweetedthe photo. ABC 7 reports that she is five years old.
