The coroner in DeSoto County has confirmed four deaths after a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 61.
The DeSoto Sheriff's Office said Saturday night's accident happened around 8:15 p.m.in the southbound lanes of the highway.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says it appears that a northbound vehicle somehow got into the southbound lanes of the divided highway.
Coroner Jeff Pounders confirmed four deaths. The Commercial Appeal reports that officials also said two people suffered critical injuries.
